Dr Uriel qualified from the Royal Free Hospital, London, undergoing specialty registrar training at the Infectious Diseases Units at Dundee and Manchester. In 2002 she joined the Division of Liver Diseases, Mount Sinai Hospital, New York, working on numerous HCV, HBV and HIV/HCV clinical research protocols. Returning to Manchester in 2009, she remains involved in trials of new HIV and viral hepatitis therapies. Her interests include management of viral hepatitis in pregnancy, improving viral hepatitis education and screening in migrant communities, and she is Chair of the ‘Greater Manchester Viral Hepatitis Strategy: Migrants and Ethnic Groups’ sub group.
