New for 2021 – Clinical Webinars | Earn extra CPD hours

BMJ Live will be hosting CPD accredited webinars covering trending topics in three main topic areas, cardiology, diabetes, and managing older patients. These webinars will update you with the latest evidence and guidelines and include Q&A with our expert speakers.

Delegates will gain three clinical CPD points and will be sent a certificate. 

Please note, if you can’t attend all the webinars on the live event days, recordings of all three webinars will be available for six months after, for you to catch up and learn at your own pace.

Trending Topics in Cardiology | Thursday 7 October | 14:30-15:30 | Angus Nightingale
In this session we will address key questions such as “When to use SGLT2 inhibitors in heart failure?”, “Do we still believe in looking for cardiac ischaemia?”, “What new technologies exist to detect arrhythmias?” and “How do I implement the 2021 NICE Guidelines for Atrial Fibrillation?”

The session will focus on updating you with the latest evidence and helping to apply this in your daily practice, whether in primary or secondary care. There will be the opportunity to ask questions and for discussion.

Trending Topics in Diabetes | Friday 8 October | 14:30-15:30 | Tahseen Chowdhury
During this session you will learn more about how important diabetes diagnostics are. Specifically about diagnostic conundrums of Type 1 or Type 2. Glucose control and how low should we go? Finally, some diabetes related conditions that should not be missed.

Trending Topics in Managing older patients | Saturday 9 October | 14:30-15:30 | Clifford Lisk
This session will focus on following the journey of an older adult with Multimorbidity living with frailty focusing on comprehensive Geriatric assessment including oral health, nutrition and the effectiveness of strength training, anticoagulation use with reference to draft revised NICE guidelines on managing atrial fibrillation, admission avoidance ie home hospital as an alternative to hospital admission and deprescribing in older adults approaching the end of life referencing the updated STOPPFrail criteria.
