Dr Angus Nightingale is a Consultant Cardiologist and Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Bristol. He leads the Heart Failure Service and runs a Specialist Hypertension Clinic at the Bristol Heart Institute.
He is actively involved in teaching and clinical research with an interest in young onset hypertension and is aiming to understand the mechanisms that cause hypertension to progress to heart failure (and then prevent this).
Outside work he enjoys long walks with his family and black Lab, as well as running to keep the stresses of NHS life under control. He is most looking forward to live audience interaction to stimulate his teaching and creating new visual aids to help healthcare professionals apply their knowledge. During the COVID period he has missed being able to teach doctors in Uganda echo and cardiology skills but is looking forward to returning there in 2022.
